One of the most joyful experiences in any pregnant woman’s life is the opportunity to become a major participant in your child’s life. But sometimes the excitement and thrills of motherhood can lead to frustrations of developing oily acne prone skin that could lead to acne breakouts resulting from the fluctuations in malnutrition that first time moms can fall victim to.

But we fortunately live in a high tech world where new products are constantly being created to solve the problems faced by the pregnant mom when it comes to high quality nutrition. There are tons of products that help ease the excruciating painful experiences that a mom can face during their amazing 9-month journey of pregnancy.

And our skin happens to be our body’s largest organ that we are so concerned about on a daily basis because we all know that our body’s chemistry is totally different from that of a male. And those unexpected changes in your body can cause unpredictable fluctuations in the quality of your skin texture.

Finding the perfect skin care product to eliminate all your skin care problems can be a very daunting task to a young mother due to the unlimited number of choices at their disposal. And determining their PH balance of their skin (dry acne prone skin or oily acne prone skin) is another challenge they face in their quest for achieving glowing skin. Your skin’s PH balance is one of the most overlooked factors taken into consideration for the careful selection of the right skin care products. What may have worked prior to pregnancy may in fact not be applicable to a skin care regimen during and after pregnancy.

As a result of learning about the complicated nature of Chinese herbal medicine from my family in which I have grown up, I was able to apply the principles of Yin and Yang to improving every aspect of my health as a young mother of two children. I learned how the texture of my skin is dependent on how well my internal organs are functioning on a healthy level in terms of natural detoxification. So you can see how skin care products alone cannot address some of the most common skin care issues.

Due to the growing trend of going green in an attempt to make our world more environmentally friendly, more pregnant moms are becoming more selective when choosing their right products for their skin. Supported by the movement of the organic community, many of them are beginning to learn about the toxic substances that are present in may of the beauty products, lotions, shampoos, and creams. This was all fueled by the fear that pesticides and contaminants were present in almost every consumable product. And this is not a perception propagated by vegetarians as what we would like to believe.

Reproductive health of a young woman is crucial when it comes to the health of their unborn child. And fueling it requires the consistent consumption of non-toxic foods and organic skin care supplements. Contrary to what you may believe, there are a lot of beauty products that are manufactured with only organic ingredients and materials. If diaper rash is not raising a concern for the need of high quality skin care products for your own baby, then you are not taking the healthy relationship between mother and child seriously.

A good friend of mine has concocted a unique formula for baby cream from nothing more than organic foods that she buys from an organic produce market. She is in the process of procuring a trademark for her unique product that will solve a major problem in skin allergies and rashes. I am looking forward to the day when it is first introduced to major stores like Walmart or Walgreens. I welcome anything that would minimize our exposure to toxic substances that is often not revealed in many of the ingredients that make up the elements of many skin care products on the market.

Many moms are concerned about stretch marks that they fall victim to after pregnancy. But nonetheless, there are manufacturers who care about the needs and demands of young mom’s insatiable desire to minimize or eliminate their stretch marks. With the development of unique botanical ingredients for increasingly reduced stretch marks, they are on target for helping moms achieve radiantly glowing skin.

There are tons of toning oils that are made with simple ingredients from your own kitchen table. Avocados, pomegranate, cocoa butter, and jojoba oil are the typical ingredients in body toning oil that is applicable to the area of your sagging skin following childbirth. You can easily achieve results instantly from a few applications, which is geared towards increasing your skin’s elasticity and the production of skin collagen.

Adding organic shampoos and soaps to your arsenal of skin care products is one of the best ways to get you in the right direction of maintaining baby smooth skin. And these products are completely free of substances that can dry out your skin, leaving the texture of your skin with a lackluster appearance.

Health food stores throughout the US carry beauty products of an organic nature. If you are unsure of what products to buy that is appropriate for your skin type, you can talk to a holistic practitioner for expert advice. They have tons of health and wellness information relating to skin health that you can truly benefit from. They don’t just talk the talk. They walk the walk.

Inspecting the ingredients on the labels of organic products is an exercise that you must get used to. And the reason why I say this is because there are a few companies that violate the laws by not honestly revealing what kinds of harsh chemical substances that they use in their manufacturing process. What is shocking is that they still get an organic rating that they don’t deserve. That is why it is very important for you to authenticate the organic ingredients of the product by identifying a certified organic label on it.

The proper skin care routine for you and your child is crucial in maintaining the radiant beauty and health that will carry over a lifetime.

Here’s another very interesting article on the subject of Acne and Pregnancy by Fran Anderson which I also think makes for an interesting read.

As a result of the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy, many women suffer from acne outbreaks while pregnant. There are remedies for acne available which are safe for pregnant women to use. Your doctor should be able to advise you on an acne treatment and always consult your doctor before using any acne product while pregnant.

Acne during pregnancy is generally caused by changes in hormone levels, not by the more common causes of clogged pores or bacteria beneath the skin. As such, all pregnant women are susceptible to breakouts, regardless of whether bouts of acne were a problem in the past. Having had clear, healthy skin your whole life will not make you immune to acne while pregnant.

Good skin care while pregnant starts by gently cleansing your face each morning and again at night. This may not be enough to prevent acne during pregnancy, however. In addition, you might consider using an additional acne treatment. If this is the case, speak with your doctor as there are acne remedies that are safe for pregnant women and acne treatments that should be avoided.

Non-prescription, topically applied treatments such as those containing a lower concentration of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can generally be safely used while pregnant. Be cautious, though, and talk to your doctor before using any topical remedy.

Acne medication taken orally, however, should be avoided unless prescribed by your doctor. You should also avoid remedies such as Accutane, tetracycline and its derivatives and any topical retinoids.

Treatments labeled “all natural” need to be approached with caution. Natural or herbal remedies are not necessarily safe for pregnant women. As always, follow your doctor’s advice before applying any treatment.

While pregnant women are likely to experience acne breakouts due to higher hormone levels, they can do something about it. With a doctor’s advice and a bit of care, you can have clear skin while you are pregnant.
